Simon Jacobs

Simon's solo musical adventure started in 2017.

Now, with nearly 3 million streams to his name, Jacobs’ solo work is celebrated for its layered compositions, catchy choruses, harmonious vocals and sharp lyrics. However, for Simon, the songwriting remains the most enjoyable part of the process.

As a multi-instrumentalist and songwriter, Jacobs crafts colourful soundscapes using synth, piano, electric and acoustic guitar, loops, and samples, all supporting his reflective vocals. ​Citing artists like Rufus Wainwright, Robbie Williams, Paul Simon, Randy Newman and Frank Ocean as major influences, Jacobs’ music strikes the right balance between familiar and quirky; between comfortable and edgy…

Somewhat to his own surprise, Simon has also become a YouTuber. In 2020, while trying to find more ways to promote his music, he started a Channel and his videocast series, ‘Adventures in Pop’. 

This provides an opportunity for Simon to talk about any aspect of the music industry that's crossing over into the news - but mostly it means he can share the ups and downs of pursuing a ‘career’ in pop music in real time, giving people access to lots more songs than are ever likely to be released.

To date, Simon's YouTube channel has attracted over 500,000 subscribers.

Simon is also a part of a number of musical collaborations, which he finds fantastic for challenging his own work and methods and for broadening and growing his production skills and experience.
